 | Attorney K. Gabriel Heiser |
Since graduating from Boston University
School of Law in 1983, attorney K. Gabriel Heiser has focused exclusively
on Medicaid eligibility planning and estate planning. His 23+ years of specialization
enables him to come up with creative solutions to the most difficult Medicaid
and estate planning situations. Attorney Heiser genuinely enjoys solving
the problems of his many clients, typically saving them thousands of dollars
of their hard-earned savings. He understands the complexities of the Medicaid
and tax systems so that he can steer his clients through the maze of rules
and regulations to arrive at the best possible solution.
Attorney Heiser began his law practice in Massachusetts, where he was Chairman
of the Estate Planning Committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association. After
eight years, he relocated to Tennessee, where he was the founder and Chairman
of the Nashville Bar Association's Estate Planning Committee, Vice President
of the Nashville Estate Planning Council (2003-2004), President of the Middle
Tennessee Planned Giving Council (1997), an organization that focuses on
methods of charitable giving. He has taught as a member of the Adjunct Faculty
of the College for Financial Planning at David Lipscomb University, as an
instructor in Estate Planning Law (1996-1998).
He is a long-time member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys
(NAELA) and an ACTEC Fellow (see below). Attorney Heiser is a frequent seminar
leader and participant in the areas of Medicaid eligibility planning, estate
and gift tax, charitable gifts and trusts, and sophisticated estate planning.
He has been certified by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils
as a Certified Estate Planning Specialist. |

Association Estate Planning Section; Colorado Bar Association (Elder Law
Section); National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA)
Fellow, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Being
elected to ACTEC is one of the highest honors an estate planning attorney
can receive. ACTEC is a non-profit association composed of approximately
2,700 of the most accomplished estate planning practitioners in the United
States and Canada. There are only 49 ACTEC members in Colorado. A lawyer
cannot apply for membership in the College; Fellows of the College are
nominated by other Fellows in their geographic area and are elected by
the membership at large. To qualify for membership, a lawyer must have
at least 10 years of experience in the active practice of probate and
trust law or estate planning. Lawyers and law professors are elected to
be Fellows by the other members, based on their outstanding professional
reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field
by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities.
